Kids line up for a chance to receive either a Free Ticket, or . . . a handful of mashed potatoes! To play, they reached up and “picked” Mr. Potato’s nose! Eeew! This is one of several stations at the San Luis Valley Potato Festival in Monte Vista, Colorado where the kids try their skill or chance to receive tickets that they can redeem for prizes. Bowling with potatoes, potato pitching, etc. Games also included a coin search in a kiddy swimming pool of mashed potatoes!

- Potato pitching with whole potatoes. Pitch the potato through the hole to receive a free ticket.

- Sliced potato flinging! Plastic wrapped potato slices are flung through the slots to receive a free ticket.

- Pick your prize: redeem one ticket for penny candy, or 10 tickets for a bamboo finger trap puzzle!

- Mixing up the mashed potatoes for the treasure coin hunt to held later in the afternoon.
